Sikkim is one of the smallest and least populated states of India. Gangtok is the capital and largest city in the state. Sikkim is one of the prominent states known for its beauty, snow capped mountains, lakes, waterfalls, monastery towns and lovely long drive experiences.

Khangchendzonga National Park located in Sikkim covers almost 35 per cent area of the state.  This national park was inscribed to UNESCO World Heritage Sites lists in the year of 2016. Sikkim being the most perfect scenic natural beauty with peace gateway, it is really top in the list of every traveler. The months of March to May are the best time to visit Sikkim.

However, Monsoon season in Sikkim is from July to September and tourists can expect heavy rains during this time. Budget travelers can pick this season as they can avail heavy discounts. But, if you really wish to enjoy winter adventures, then an ideal time is from October to March. Activities like skiing and snowboarding can be enjoyed here during winter season.

Travel to Gangtok
Bagdogra International Airport situated in Darjeeling district of West Bengal is the nearest airport to reach Sikkim. Gangtok is 123 kilometers away from airport and travel time is approx 4-5 hours via surface. Get booked your hotels and everything well in advance to avoid last time hassle.

It is about 92 kilometer away from Gangtok and takes 3-4 hours via surface. Before this, you may enjoy sightseeing around Changu Lake, Baba Mandir, Kupup Elephant Lake.
