Dooars Jungle Safari (05 Nights / 06 Days)

Dooars: The northeast part of WB along the foothill of Eastern Himalaya is known as Dooars . A major stretch of the area is bordered in the north by Bhutan and hence the name - Dooars means Door of Bhutan. In fact it is the gateway of northeast states of India and also Bhutan. The park is located on the bank of rivers Murti and Raidak and has vegetation of riverine grasslands interspersed with savannah woodlands. This entire landscape along the foot hill from Siliguri to Cochbihar is studded with lash green acres of Tea gardens, number of Wildlife Sanctuaries, a National Park and a Tiger Reserve. Wild orchids, the rich wildlife including Leopard, Tiger, Elephants , and Indian one horn Rhino is the main attraction of this area. Much of the forest is moist deciduous and sal is the most common and valuable tree. Teak, simul, siris, khair are also found here. The diversified human races including several Tribes with there individual culture and character made the area as ideal home of eco-tourism.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Siliguri/Bagdogra to Lataguri (95 km./ 2.5 hrs.)

On arrival at Bagdogra airport or Siliguri (NJP) railway station meet our representative, who will assist & give you briefing about your tour at the time of arrival & drive to the to Lataguri near Garumara National Park. Lataguri is a small town located in the Jalpaiguri district of Indian state ofWest Bengal. The village is located outside the Gorumara National Park on National Highway No. 31. Permits for entering Gorumara and Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary are given from Lataguri. Evening jungle safari at Gorumara National Park (own cost).Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2

Excursion to Sumsing, Suntalikhola, Jhalong & Bindu

Today you will proceed to full day excursion to Samsing, Suntalikhola, Jhalong & Bindu. We proceed the journey with the most picturesque landscape from Lataguri to Samsing. Situated at an elevation of 3000ft, Samsing is an ideal place for nature lovers. The journey to Samsing is a memorable one, as you slowly ride uphill through the most picturesque Dooars tea garden. Suntalekhola is about four kilometers further up the road from Samsing. The road ends here close to a small stream named Suntaley Khola. . Jhalong in another important place known for Jaldhaka river & Jladhaka Hydral Project. Bindu is the Indo-Bhutan border with a Dam on Jadhaka river.
Day 3

Lataguri to Jayanti (105 km./ 2.30 hrs)

After breakfast we will proceed to Jayanti situated on the bank of Jayanti River - It provides an excellent view of the hills of Bhutan – The area is known for its diversified flora and fauna - It provides habitat for the Royal Bengal Tiger, Gaur, Leopard, Sambar, Chital, Hog Deer, Barking deer etc. Evening is free to stroll on the banks of river Jayanti , it is always advisable to move in group. A comfortable overnight stay at Jayanti.
Day 4

Jayanti to Jaldapara (75 km./ 2 hrs)

Early morning breakfast drive to Jaldaparai through Madarihat . Jaldapara is a home to almost 240 species of birds, 20 species of mammals and various species of reptiles and fishes. Jaldapara is specially known for preservation of one horn rhinos. It has the highest population of rhinos after Kaziranga in Assam. The other important animals are Asiatic elephant, leopard, deer (hog deer, spoted deer, barking deer), shanbar & bisons (Indian Gour). An elephant safari in Jaldapara can provide you an opportunity to have a closer view of all these animals. . A comfortable overnight stay at Jaldapara.
Day 5

Jaldapara Jungle Safari

Jaldapara Wild Life Sanctuary, situated in Alipurduar Sub-Division of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal, is home to a wide variety of wild life, particularly the Great Indian one Horned Rhinos after Kaziranga in Assam. The river Torsha flows through this rain forest sanctuary which is mostly covered with tall grasses, the sanctuary encompasses a luxuriant vegetation and a rich variety of wildife. The Malangi River also flows nearby from east to west. Early morning at 06 A.M we will drive to Hollong forest Bungalow towards elephant raiding stand for thrilling elephant safari. It offers the exquisite beauty of the vast grassland of Jaldapara. One can sight Indian rhinos, bison, deer, and Asiatic elephants Royal Bengal Tighars. We will return back to hotel for breakfast and further drive to Phuntsholling 80 kms up/dn 04 hrs to visit monastery and indo Bhutan gate. Back to Hotel at Jaldapara . Overnight stay at Jaldapara.
Day 6

Jaldapara to Siliguri/Bagdogra (140 km./ 4 hrs)

After completing a farewell party drive back to Siliguri (NJP)/ Bagdogra (IXB) covering a distance of 121 kms and about four hours drive. Bagdogra is approximately 140 km from Madarihat, located on the NH 31, 140 km east from Siliguri, 80 km north from Coochbehar and 50 km west from Alipurduar for your onward journey with happy memories to cherish.
